Jakie Devine, born Ayikoru Jackline Amagule on December 9, 1998, in Luvu Ayibiri Dadamu Subcounty, Arua District, West Nile Region of Uganda, is a remarkable gospel singer, songwriter, worship leader, and musician renowned for her soul-stirring voice and profound faith. Signed to Ganya Records, Jakie is on her way to becoming a significant figure in Uganda's gospel music scene.
Raised by her parents, AMAGULE GIFT and ADANIA SALLY, both dedicated educators, Jakie's musical journey was deeply influenced by her family. Her siblings, who have always supported her passion for music, have been her greatest motivators, encouraging her to pursue her dreams. The Devine family's love for music and their unwavering support have been instrumental in her development as an artist.
Jakie Devine is a devoted member of the Worship Harvest Arua choir and has been a prominent presence at Revival Festivals in Arua for the past seven (07) years. Her mother's steadfast attendance at these festivals has also been a source of inspiration. Through her uplifting performances, Jakie has provided hope and solace to many in her community, using her gifts to touch lives and inspire faith.
Jakie's love for music began in her childhood, performing at school functions and growing into a deep-seated passion that has continued to flourish. She has contributed her voice to various artists and has been a cherished member of church praise and worship groups. Jakie's dedication to her craft is evident in her desire to draw audiences into a profound spiritual experience, establishing herself as a celebrated gospel artist in Uganda and beyond.
In her own words, Jakie shares, “I love to sing because it's my greatest hobby, and I believe it's what God has given me to preach the gospel and touch the world out there. I believe my voice could heal a soul, change a heart, and bring a smile to a face. Music is food to the soul!”
Jakie attended Christ the King Primary School, Mvara Secondary School for both O and A Levels, and pursued higher education at Kyambogo University, where she earned a Bachelor's in Community Development and Social Justice. She furthered her studies at Uganda Christian University, obtaining a Certificate in Administrative Law. As a Community Practitioner, Jakie is dedicated to working with diverse communities, aiming to uplift and solve their problems, driven by her passion to see others thrive.
Despite a life largely centered around school, church, and home, Jakie's immersion in these environments has only deepened her connection to music. Though she initially hesitated to pursue music professionally, she acknowledges that God's will has guided her path, leading her to embrace her musical vocation.
Nigerian music has significantly influenced Jakie's journey, with early inspirations from artists like Sinach, Ada, Hillsong, and Planet Shakers. Her music message centers on God's profound love, reflecting her belief that her ability to perform and minister is a manifestation of God's grace.

Jakie Devine's debut EP, LOVED, is a testament to her songwriting, inspired by the love story of God as revealed in the Bible. Each song incorporates Biblical verses, reinforcing her message of divine love. Her aspiration is to reach the world with her music, holding concerts across the country and beyond, and collaborating with other artists to expand the kingdom of God.
“I want to minister to the hearts of people not by my own strength but through God,” Jakie says. “God reveals Himself to people through people, and I have availed myself to be used by Him to make His word and love known, drawing hearts closer to Him. I encourage everyone to stay connected to God, trust Him for everything, and remember that His love transcends all.”
In her personal time, Jakie enjoys watching movies, engaging in conversations, and recently has developed a passion for reading.
